GongGuan
Primary School is situated in Ta-An District, an area abundant in
culture and education institues. Established in 1978, it is now 33
years old. The school has had eight principals since it was founded and
every former principal fowsed his or her efforts on establishing a
sound foundation for the broadminded and excellent tradition of
Guongguan. Since her arrival in August, 2009, Ms. Li Chung-hui, the
present principal of the school, has been implementing the school’s
long-mid term development plan and actively incorporating various
measures in line with the multi-cultural society and the new national
policy of the integrated curriculum for a nine-year compulsory
education program. Those plans and activities aim not only to build up
a happy and safe environment for children to learn in, but also to
achieve the educational goal of whole person development through
adopting new teaching methods, which emphasize diversification,
creativity and activeness, and can inspire children to develop their
multiple intelligences, and cultivate their potential. |
The school
covers an area of 17,730 square meters and now has around 325 students.
That means that every student enjoys a space of about 48 square meters.
We still have enough spare space to accommodate the future expansion of
a covered building or a swimming pool. There is a Toad Hill next to our
campus, and a spacious teaching garden on the campus, both providing a
good chance for students to plant and observe plants. With the
completion of our new water garden, we look forward to establishing
natural science as one of our special subjects. |
